Our team consists of first time swimmers and experienced year-round swimmers. Participation provides an environment for learning and an opportunity to work/play together while improving through teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and fun. We compete in 8 swim meets on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings, as well as optional competitions as part of the Suburban Swim League. The season runs from the Tuesday following Memorial Day until about the middle of July each year. We accept children aged 4-18 on May 31 for each year. You must be a pool member to join the swim team. *** Requirement***- Your child must be able to Swim one full length of the pool unassisted.

There are 8 meets and they are held on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm and Saturday mornings at 9:00am. Swimmers are expected to be ready for warm-up 45 minutes before the meet starts.
On days of Wednesday home swim meets, the pool will remain open after 5:00pm only to swim team members and families, spectators, and volunteers in order to allow for set-up and for the swim meet itself. In addition, the pool may open later than normal on days with Saturday home swim meets. All members are invited to watch, cheer, and help with the swim meet in any capacity.
Each additional child's fee is $5 less than the previous until the 5th. The fee is only required for the first 4 children per family.

The Wedgewood Waves is a fun, inclusive, and competitive swim team for all swimmers ages 4-18. Our goal is to create an environment where every swimmer, regardless of ability or experience, is able to have a positive experience while improving himself or herself both in and out of the water.
Calendar of Events(suit fitting, practices, meets, special events, etc.)
Every family is expected to volunteer either 4 full meets or 8 half meets. In addition, other family members not swimming are also welcome to volunteer.
We need the following volunteer positions at every meet:
Starter/Referee, Stroke & Turn Judge, Place Judges, Clerk of Course, Head Timers, Runners, Scorers, Timers, Announcers, and Snack Bar helpers.
Each family is expected to participate in at least one fundraiser. Our fundraising supports the needs of the swim team directly. It assist in providing some of the following; team supplies, ribbons / trophies / team building activites.
