(8/20/08) Status of our pool: We all know that we have been struggling to keep memberships up for years. This year we had an all time low number of memberships (92). We need well over 100 to be able to keep the pool open. The low number of memberships this year puts us behind for next year but we will open! Next year, we will be sending out membership applications very early. We will need that money to make the first payment to our pool management company early in May. We strongly encourage you to send in your membership payment early next year. We will have incentives for joining early. We may also offer a payment plan. If you have any ideas on how to help the pool please don’t hesitate to contact Tom Thomas at 221-3734 or email us at wedgewoodpool@hotmail.com.
(7/30/08) Crab Feast Volunteer needed: We need someone to volunteer to run our annual crab feast. If you can help please call Tom Thomas at 221-3734 or email us at wedgewoodpool@hotmail.com. The volunteer would need to order and pick up the crabs/beverages/and other food items needed as well as collect the money for the tickets. This event will not happen without a volunteer! Pool Pizza Party #3 will be on Friday, August 15th from 6-9 p.m. Swimming begins at 6 p.m. Pizza, soda, and music will begin at 7 p.m. We’ll try to make sure all of the pizza arrives at 7 p.m. sharp. Thank you for being patient last time. This is free to members and only $10 per family to Eagle Glen and Hawk’s Nest residents. Pizza & soda are included. If anyone would like to bring a side dish to share feel free. The kids would love it. Ideas: chips/doritos/popcorn/brownies/rice krispie treats/cup cakes/potato salad/pasta salad/etc. We’ll try to put a sign up sheet in the breezeway for attendance & side dishes. Steve Thomas, our pool manager, will be heading back to college on Aug 3rd. The new pool manager will be Ian Broomball. Steven - you did a great job this year! Good luck at school! (6/30/08) Pool Pizza Party #2 will be on Friday, July 18th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. All members are free! All Eagle Glen or Hawk’s Nest residence are welcome and the cost per family is $10. This includes pizza, soda, swimming, and music by D.J. Jeff Moore! Come out for the fun! There will be one more party in August. (6/18/08) FREE PIZZA PARTY Friday, June 20th 7-9 p.m.! Free to all members. Non-members are welcome for $10 per family. Pizza, Soda, swimming, and music by D.J. Jeff Moore provided! Come out for the fun! Two more parties will be announced during the season. Check back for more information. (6/17/08) *Important Message* - Wedgewood currently has only 79 memberships. We need to get a minimum of 100 memberships to be able to pay our pool management company. It is imperative that you encourage your friends and neighbors to join. (6/6/08) The pool will close early, at 4:30 p.m., on June 18th, July 2nd, July 9th due to home swim meets. (all Wednesdays) The pool will close early, at 4:30 p.m., on Saturday, July 19th for the swim team party. (6/3/08) Try the Pool on Saturday, June 7th. Everyone is welcome for only $2 per person. No membership needed. Our previous Open Pool Day was rained out. The pool will be open everyday starting Saturday, June 7th. Summer is here! Swim team morning practice will begin Monday, June 9th We still need a microwave for the guard room. (5/17/08) Opening Day— Saturday, May 24th at 12 noon Try the Pool Day— Saturday May 31st. All are welcome. You do not need a membership and you do not need to come with a member. The cost is only $2 per person. Pool hours are 12 noon to 8 p.m. Spread the word! (5/3/08) Donations– We need a microwave, toaster oven, and electric griddle for the Snack Shack. Thank you for your help! Volunteers– We need volunteers for the following Pool Committee positions: Party Rep Crab Feast Coordinator Treasure and Operations positions will be needed after the 2008 season. The pool does not open without volunteers! Please help! (3/23/08) -Membership Discount— Save $25 off any membership by paying in full before April 25th! -Pool Clean Up Day— To be announced -We are happy to announce that Steven Thomas will be our pool manager for the summer of 2008! -The pool committee is looking into getting the diving board fixed/replaced before the summer.
